I have many years’ experience of mediation, and have dealt with neighbour disputes, anti-social behaviour orders, employment disagreements, family issues and homelessness. This work was through Lincolnshire County Council, Lincolnshire Police, Social Services contracts awarded to Lincolnshire Mediation and private practice.
WHAT IS MEDIATION?
Mediation is a way to resolve disputes and disagreements with a trained and impartial third party present, who ensures that each individual is dealt with fairly and has their points heard.
Whether your dispute is with your partner, friend, family member, neighbour or employer, mediation offers a way to address issues in a controlled, safe and confidential environment. The mediator is there to help ensure the facts are heard and support you to find practical, fair and lasting resolutions for all parties.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
If you feel you are in a situation which would benefit from mediation, you may wish to meet with me to discuss your wishes, I would then talk to all the other parties involved on a one-to-one basis to discuss their needs too. We can then arrange a joint mediation session with all parties involved. You will each be encouraged to share your side of the story and recognise the impact the situation is having on each other. We will then work together to decide on a course of action which satisfies everyone involved.
We would usually arrange a follow-up phone call to see if the strategy has been effective or if further action is needed.
